BalaiPH ("we", "us", "the Platform") is a property listing and discovery service that connects Filipino buyers and sellers directly. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it, in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: full name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
• Profile information: profile photo, and for sellers, verification details submitted for listing approval.
• Listing information: property details, photos, and pricing you submit as a seller.
• Communications: messages exchanged between buyers and sellers through our chat feature.
• Payment proof: images/receipts you upload to confirm payment for listing promotions (Featured/Premium plans). We do not process or store card or bank credentials — payments are handled outside the Platform.
• Usage data: login timestamps, online status, and activity logs for security and account protection.

2. Why We Collect It

• To create and secure your account (authentication, fraud and brute-force protection).
• To let buyers and sellers discover listings and communicate directly.
• To verify seller identity and legitimacy of listings.
• To process and confirm payment for optional listing promotions.
• To maintain platform safety, investigate abuse reports, and enforce our Terms of Use.

3. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal data. Limited sharing occurs only:

• Between a buyer and a seller you choose to message — your name and messages are visible to that counterparty.
• With payment facilitators (e.g., GCash) solely to confirm promotion payments you initiate.
• When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BalaiPH, our users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8).

5. Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including password hashing, session security, brute-force login protection, and restricted access to uploaded files and database credentials, to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. No online system can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data protected.

6. Your Rights Under the Data Privacy Act

As a data subject, you have the right to:

• Be informed that your personal data will be, are being, or have been processed.
• Access your personal data held by us.
• Correct inaccurate or outdated personal data.
• Object to processing of your data, including for marketing purposes.
• Erasure or blocking of your data under certain conditions.
• Data portability, where technically feasible.
• File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) if you believe your rights have been violated.

7. Children's Privacy

BalaiPH is not intended for individuals under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
